Platform & App Care

Launch is the beginning, not the end.

Maintenance for your website, platform or app: updates, security, monitoring and further development, even if we didn’t build it. We take on that role, or help you anchor it inside your organisation.

What is Platform & App Care?

Platform Care and App Care are maintenance agreements for after launch: updates, monitoring, support and app store publications. They also cover software built by another team, after an exploration. Which tasks and availability are included is set per product. New features get separate, agreed capacity. Documentation and transferable access make it possible to continue with another team later.

What happens when nobody takes on the maintenance

The developer is gone. We don’t dare touch anything anymore.

Dependencies, hosting, app stores and that one scheduled task: all the knowledge sat with a single person. Without updates, libraries and plugins fall behind, and hackers or malware find a security hole faster.

iOS is blocking the update.

SDKs, privacy labels and architecture requirements keep changing. An app is never finished for good.

Plenty of good ideas, scattered across meeting notes. Nothing happens with them.

Everyone knows the priorities, but nobody has the time or the technical knowledge to plan them step by step. So every further development becomes a new, expensive project every three years.

We can’t find anyone willing to tackle the problems.

If you want to switch suppliers easily, the code, documentation and access must be yours and transferable. We keep a constant eye on this within Care. It is not an empty promise.

And then there’s what you don’t see

Back-ups that have never been tested, a server slowly filling up, a load time that creeps up a little every quarter. You only notice things like that once they have already gone wrong.

Three ways to keep going after launch

Not a fixed maintenance package off the shelf, but an agreement built around your product. Technical support is always part of it; how much support and reporting you need, we decide together.

Platform Care

Web platforms, Nimbu, integrations and custom apps.

  • updates and bug fixes
  • monitoring
  • support
  • hosting coordination
  • small improvements
  • quarterly roadmap call
App Care

iOS and Android.

  • SDK and dependency updates
  • publication in the app stores
  • crash monitoring
  • compatibility with the backend
  • checks for new operating systems and devices
  • small UX improvements
Product Evolution

Fixed capacity per month, not a pile of loose tickets.

  • priorities and planning
  • design and development
  • AI workflows on the existing product
  • reporting

We agree which maintenance and which support are included, when we are available and how quickly we respond. New features get a separate budget or agreed development capacity. A response time is not a guarantee that every problem is solved within that time.

What’s included in Platform & App Care?

Website maintenance is more than pulling in the odd update. This is what we keep an eye on, whether you have a single website or a platform with an app alongside it.

Framework and dependency updates

Libraries, plugins and SDKs stay up to date, so you don’t suddenly find yourself stuck on a version nobody supports any more.

Security

We follow up on reported vulnerabilities and patch what affects your product, before somebody else finds it.

Back-ups

Automatic, and we test that a restore actually works. A back-up that has never been restored is not a back-up.

Monitoring, uptime and hosting

We would rather spot an outage before your customers do; crashes in the app show up in the same overview. Disk space, certificates and load times are tracked as well, together with your hosting provider or by us.

Reporting

What we have done, what is still open and what we recommend for the months ahead.

New functionality

Within an agreed capacity per month, so improvements do not sit waiting until they turn into a project.

Outsourcing your maintenance does not have to be all or nothing. If you have an administrator of your own, we take on just the technical part. If you would like a proposal, we start by looking at the code, the hosting and the access.

Even if we didn’t build it.

We start with a technical and product exploration of the code, infrastructure, accounts, dependencies and documentation. Then we propose Care or further development, or we tell you honestly that it is not a fit. If the collaboration ever ends, you can continue without us, and you will be in a better position than before.

Questions we often get

Sometimes. We examine the software first and only then take on responsibility. We don’t promise an SLA for code we don’t understand.

Only if it is agreed contractually. By default we work with clear availability hours and response times, not with an on-call service that only exists on paper.

Yes, within a suitable Care or evolution plan. Loose emails without context are slow and expensive for both sides.

Then code, documentation and access must be transferable. No lock-in is a working agreement, not a slogan. We build so that you can one day continue without us.

We recommend it. For apps almost always, because the app stores keep changing. For a simple website, a lighter plan is sometimes enough. We don’t push a subscription when hosting and an internal owner are sufficient.

It depends on what is running: a website, a web platform, an app or a combination. The price follows from the number of integrations, how critical the product is, what availability you need and how much capacity you want to reserve each month for further development.

Sometimes a lighter plan is enough, for example if you host it yourselves and someone internally owns it. We start with a discovery of the code, the hosting and the access. After that you get a tailored proposal with a fixed scope: what we keep an eye on, how quickly we respond to an outage and how much development time is included each month.

Yes, for websites we built ourselves and for sites we take over after a discovery. Website maintenance means, for us: framework and dependency updates, security patches, back-ups, monitoring and the small changes to text, pages or forms that come up along the way.

If your site is simple and someone internally has time for it, we will say so. We do not push a plan you do not need.

No, not as a standalone job. We do not build in WordPress ourselves, and updating plugins every month on a site we do not know is a poor arrangement for everyone. If a WordPress component runs alongside a platform we already maintain, we will look at it together.

If you are only looking for someone for your WordPress site, you will be better served elsewhere. We would rather say that straight away.

Want to stop the product from stalling after launch?

An existing platform, an app or a product you took over from someone else: describe the situation. We’ll tell you honestly whether Care is a fit.
