The challenge

A careers site and a People Hub that give candidates and employees the support they need, when they need it.

Comfort Energy Group brings together several companies and a wide range of roles. The group needs specialist office staff as well as drivers and technicians. They do not all look for a job in the same way. Yet everyone visiting the careers site needs to find a consistent story: what the group stands for, how the application process works and where they could fit in.

Before the redesign, candidates did not always have a clear picture of that process. Staff also had to send out files and employment terms manually on a regular basis. Employees still need this information after joining. They have questions about their work, but also about situations in their lives where they need clear guidance without delay, such as when they are ill.

Zenjoy’s brief therefore covered two digital spaces: a public careers site that makes the employer story and vacancies accessible, and a private People Hub where employees can find relevant information. Both had to fit Comfort Energy Group’s existing processes and systems.

One story, different ways in

We started with wireframes and a design that followed the existing visual identity. Comfort Energy Group contributed its knowledge of its people, roles and workplace policies. For the careers site, we turned that into a clear route from getting to know the group to finding a vacancy and applying.

Visitors can search by job category, region, contract type and company. The site also covers the different locations, the ENER²GY values and the steps in the application process. This gives candidates a picture of the group and helps them find a job that suits them.

A careers site connected to Recruitee

The careers site provides the public-facing layer on top of Recruitee. Vacancies and their associated information sync from the applicant tracking system (ATS) to the site. Candidates can apply directly on the site, which then sends their details to Recruitee. They can also submit an open application and sign up for alerts about suitable vacancies.

We designed the forms around the differences between roles. The application process for drivers, for example, may ask for different information than an office role requires. The integration lets the HR team keep working with its existing ATS while candidates get an experience that reflects Comfort Energy Group’s own identity.

From onboarding to everyday guidance

The People Hub supports employees when they join and throughout their time at the company. They can find documents, workplace policies and guidance that staff previously had to send out individually. The content is organised into categories and tailored to the employee’s role where needed. Documents are available in Dutch and French when both versions exist.

Employees who use the Microsoft environment can sign in with Microsoft. The Hub makes information easier to access when an employee needs it, from a practical workplace arrangement to a question about illness or another life event.

Connecting candidates and colleagues

The careers site and the People Hub each serve a different audience. Together, they support a journey that starts with the question ‘Is this the right employer for me?’ and continues after someone joins. A shared visual identity and a clear information structure make both feel familiar, while access and content remain tailored to each user.

The result

Comfort Energy Group now has a careers site that helps candidates find a suitable vacancy and explains the application process. The Recruitee integration keeps vacancies and applications connected to HR’s applicant tracking system.

Employees can access workplace policies and documents more easily through the People Hub. This gives HR a better way to support them and helps employees find the right information for practical questions in their daily lives.
